My name is Terri Joan MacDonald, and I became a Medium after experiencing the trauma of my sons passing at 23yrs old in 2015.

I experienced a real dark night of the soul. I know only parents that have experienced this grief understand it.

Not long after Rick passed I had a powerful spiritual awakening which opened me up to the spirit world very quickly. My amazing son Ricki was waking me up by sending me signs and synchronicities all the time, things were happening I couldn’t ignore and I just knew he was somewhere trying to reach me. I knew he still existed.

I researched and learnt to meditate and a beautiful connection and communication with my son was unfolding in a magical way. I began to feel his presence with me, I realised there was no separation from him.

Ricki was very clearly showing me he was still here and that he is happy and well.

My journey has been as much about self-discovery as it is about my healing and developing as a Medium. It hasn’t been easy but my life is full of magical moments and experiences with Ricki, he and all my loved ones in spirit have helped and supported me to turn my pain into purpose through Mediumship and to be of service to help heal others.

Mediumship brings this love, this truth and this healing to help shift pain and loss into hope and healing. I also try to help others experience that realisation that there is way more to this physical world, and that the unseen world continues to walk with us in love and excitement to guide us to living the best lives we can.

They never left, they are still with us, just in a different way. I know we will all experience death, but we cannot die.

A big part of my healing journey was guided by my son as he led me to Helping Parents Heal, a truly wonderful Organisation founded by Elizabeth Veney Boisson and co – founder Mark Ireland to help and support parents through child loss. Everyone involved, all the Board members, the affiliate leaders and members all over the world are parents that understand this extremely hard grief because we all walk this path together.

HPH is different than any other grief support groups though as we believe healing is possible through knowing our children are still alive and well. We know they are our guiding lights to healing and to finding meaning and purpose. There are many resources on the HPH website and we have amazing talks and presenters, experts that speak to our groups from the grief and afterlife communities.

I am honoured to be part of the organisation and love our HPH family, somewhere I feel I belong. I am the Helping Parents Heal UK Affiliate Leader and also part of the Caring Listener team helping and supporting parents individually in the UK and all over the world.
